I used a jpg taken with an IPhone 4S. The subject is jumping on a bright beach in bright sun light and blue sky.  I wanted to change the image to age it. First I blew out the exposure by;
1)      over expose to .85
2)      increase temp to +50 and
3)      tint to +75
4)      move contrast all the way to +100
5)      turn down highlights to -100
6)      and shadows to -45
7)      clarity and vibrance to +20 and saturation to -40
Then to give the image an aged, vintage look I did the following;
8)      luminance
i)       red -86
ii)      orange -40
iii)     yellow 0
iv)     green +100
v)      aqua -100
vi)     blue -100
vii)   purple and magenta 0
9)      split toning
i)       highlights
(a)    hue +57
(b)    saturation +83
(c)     balance 0
ii)      shadows
(a)    hue +260
(b)    saturation 0
I wanted to age the photo more so I used a vignette and grain to show deterioration.
10)   vignette
i)       amount +30
ii)      midpoint +35
iii)     roughness -6
iv)     feather +36
11)   grain
i)       amount +1
ii)      size +60
iii)     roughness +80
I saved the preset in LR and then used it on the antique store image from the exercise files.  By tweaking the individual settings in the preset, you can get the effect you desire. After viewing Allie's tutorial I downloaded and added two separate layers of torn and stained paper textures in photoshop and adjusted the blend mode to soft light and adjusted the opacity of each.
